The Weeknd's Final Kuala Lumpur Show Draws International Fans as Tour Reaches Its Last Night
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 — Canadian singer The Weeknd is scheduled to conclude his After Hours Til Dawn world tour at TM National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight, bringing an international concert tour that began in 2022 to its final stop in Malaysia.
The two-night Kuala Lumpur finale has attracted concertgoers from across Malaysia and overseas, with some international fans making dedicated trips to attend the performances.
Visitors from the Philippines, Maldives and the United Kingdom were among those interviewed by local media ahead of the first show on November 4.
Beyond the performances, official merchandise and activities around the venue have added to the excitement.
Overseas fans make special journeys
Among the international visitors was a 25-year-old fan from the Philippines who arrived in Kuala Lumpur with a friend on November 4.
After landing in Malaysia, the pair headed directly to the stadium area to purchase official concert merchandise.
The fan had been hoping to see The Weeknd perform since a planned Manila concert in 2018 was cancelled.
The Kuala Lumpur finale provided a new opportunity to attend one of his live performances.
A 24-year-old fan from Maldives also travelled to Malaysia for the concert, describing the singer's music as personally meaningful throughout his younger years.
Another attendee, a 23-year-old woman from the United Kingdom, made the journey despite having attended several previous performances by the artist.
The interviews illustrate the geographical reach of the fanbase drawn to Kuala Lumpur for the tour's final dates.
Merchandise attracts early queues
Official concert products have also generated considerable interest.
According to a security worker interviewed at the venue on November 4, some fans began queuing at approximately 8am, several hours before the merchandise booths opened at noon.
Attendees were keen to secure commemorative items before popular products or sizes became unavailable.
Organiser Live Nation Malaysia had also introduced a separate merchandise pre-sale on November 3 to accommodate demand.
Outside the stadium, food and beverage stalls and other visitor services contributed to a festival-like atmosphere.
Malaysian fans travel across state lines
Local fans also made significant travel arrangements.
A 24-year-old attendee from Ipoh travelled to Kuala Lumpur with two friends after the group obtained tickets through an additional sales opportunity announced in October.
They had initially been unsuccessful when tickets went on sale in May.
Their journey reflects the planning involved for fans attending major concerts away from their home cities, including transportation, accommodation and time away from work.
Final concert scheduled for 8.30pm
According to Live Nation Malaysia's official event guide, the November 5 performance is scheduled to begin at 8.30pm.
General admission gates are expected to open at 4.45pm, with supporting performances taking place before the headline show.
The organiser has encouraged concertgoers to plan their transport arrangements in advance as large crowds are expected around Bukit Jalil.
Across the two nights, attendance was projected at approximately 130,000 people, although that figure represents an advance estimate rather than a confirmed final total.
The November 5 show is expected to bring the multi-year After Hours Til Dawn tour to a close, making Kuala Lumpur the final destination for fans wishing to experience this particular concert production.
