The Weeknd's Kuala Lumpur Concerts Set to Draw 130,000 Fans as Bukit Jalil Prepares for Two Massive Nights
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 — Canadian superstar The Weeknd is set to perform at TM Stadium Nasional in Bukit Jalil on November 4 and 5, with approximately 130,000 concertgoers expected across the two nights.
The performances will mark the conclusion of the artist's After Hours Til Dawn world tour, which began in 2022 and has travelled through major international concert markets.
According to organiser Live Nation Malaysia, an estimated 65,000 people are expected to attend each performance.
With large crowds travelling to the stadium, concert organisers and transport operators have advised attendees to prepare for heavy traffic, limited parking and increased demand for public transport.
Kuala Lumpur hosts the tour finale
The Weeknd's decision to conclude the tour in Malaysia has attracted significant attention from local fans.
Live Nation Malaysia managing director Paramananthan Rajagopal described securing the final performances as an important achievement for Malaysia's concert industry.
The strong demand for concert merchandise also prompted organisers to introduce a special pre-sale on November 3, ahead of the first performance.
The additional merchandise sale was intended to accommodate fans wishing to purchase official tour products before the concert nights.
Concert schedule and entry arrangements
According to Live Nation Malaysia's official event guide, both performances are scheduled to begin at 8.30pm.
General admission gates are expected to open at 4.45pm, allowing concertgoers time to complete ticket verification and security checks.
Japanese artist ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and music duo Creepy Nuts are listed as special guests, with their performances scheduled before the main show.
Attendees are encouraged to follow the entrance information printed on their tickets and allow sufficient time for security procedures.
Actual performance times may change depending on operational conditions at the venue.
Heavy traffic expected around Bukit Jalil
Roads surrounding the stadium are expected to experience significant congestion as thousands of fans arrive during the afternoon and evening.
Major routes likely to be affected include the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Maju Expressway (MEX), Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Expressway and Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).
Local access roads such as Jalan Merah Caga and Jalan Barat may also experience delays.
Motorists not attending the concerts are encouraged to consider alternative routes, particularly during the main arrival and departure periods.
Rapid KL extends selected train services
Public transport operator Rapid KL has announced extended operating arrangements for selected train services during both concert nights.
Passengers boarding the Sri Petaling LRT Line at Bukit Jalil station and travelling directly towards Putra Heights or Sentul Timur may board until 12.30am.
However, passengers requiring transfers to other rail services must begin their return journeys earlier.
Those connecting to the Ampang LRT Line or Putrajaya MRT Line should board at Bukit Jalil before midnight.
Passengers transferring to the Kelana Jaya LRT Line, KL Monorail or Kajang MRT Line must board before 11.30pm to allow sufficient time for connecting services.
The different boarding deadlines mean that the extended closing time does not apply equally to every journey.
Public transport and alternative parking recommended
Live Nation Malaysia has recommended using the Sri Petaling LRT Line, with Bukit Jalil station located approximately five to eight minutes' walk from the stadium.
Concertgoers who prefer driving part of the journey can consider Park & Ride facilities at selected rail stations.
For e-hailing users, the recommended pick-up and drop-off area is near Endah Parade, rather than directly outside the stadium.
Alternative parking facilities are listed at MRANTI Park and Calvary Convention Centre, while parking within KL Sports City remains limited.
Attendees should confirm availability and applicable charges with individual parking operators.
Fans advised to plan their journeys home
Crowds leaving the stadium after the performances are expected to increase pressure on surrounding roads, rail stations and e-hailing services.
Concertgoers are advised to check their final train connections in advance, maintain sufficient Touch 'n Go card balance and follow instructions from venue staff.
Those travelling from outside Kuala Lumpur may need to make additional arrangements if their return journeys involve multiple public transport connections.
All published schedules and transport arrangements remain subject to updates from Live Nation Malaysia and Rapid KL.
